Exciting Times for Our Middle Schoolers: Off to Qingdao!
Today marks an exciting milestone for a group of our middle school students as they head off to Qingdao to compete in the highly anticipated Qingdao International Schools Network (QISN) tournament. This annual event brings together schools from across the region, and our students are thrilled to be representing WZIS in the football (soccer) competition. Their enthusiasm has been building all week, and after putting in countless hours of practice, they are more than ready to take the field.
The journey to Qingdao is a 2.5-hour bus ride, which gives our students time to bond with one another, mentally prepare for the challenges ahead, and build excitement for this weekend's tournament. Despite the rainy weather today, their spirits are high. This will be an unforgettable experience, and we’re confident they’ll give it their all, bringing the positive attitudes and sportsmanship we’re so proud of at WZIS.
The students’ dedication to practicing and refining their skills has been inspiring to see. Their commitment speaks to the hard work and determination they’ve shown both on the field and in the classroom. For many, this is their first time competing at an international level, and while we’ll miss having them on campus, we’re excited to see them embrace this challenge with courage and teamwork.
This trip wouldn’t be possible without the tireless support of our staff. A huge thank you goes to Coach Eri, who has been working closely with the students to ensure they’re prepared for this tournament. We also extend our deepest appreciation to our dedicated teachers, Rebeca Gonzalez and Arnold Bagapuro, who have generously volunteered their time to accompany and assist the team throughout the competition. Their presence will no doubt provide our students with the encouragement and support they need.
As our students embark on this journey, we are cheering them on from afar and are proud to know they will represent WZIS with integrity, teamwork, and respect. Whether they bring home a trophy or not, we know they will return with valuable lessons, personal growth, and unforgettable memories. Competing at this level is an incredible opportunity, and we’re certain they will make the most of it.
We wish our students the best of luck and, most importantly, an injury-free tournament. Win or lose, what matters most is that they give their best effort and enjoy the experience. The entire WZIS community is behind them, and we can’t wait to hear about their adventures when they return.
Go team, and Go WZIS!
