Finishing Strong: WZFS Celebrates Semester Highlights and Looks Ahead
This past week marked a milestone for the WZFS Upper School boys as they participated in their first-ever basketball tournament representing the school. Traditionally, WZFS has competed in soccer and volleyball, but the boys were eager to take on a new challenge. Over the course of four weeks, they dedicated themselves to mastering the fundamentals of basketball, including learning the rules, offensive and defensive sets, and inbound plays.
Facing referees and tournament regulations for the first time was no small task. The boys quickly realized that playing in a tournament setting comes with its own unique demands. Although securing a win proved to be a tall order, they competed valiantly, demonstrating tremendous growth, sportsmanship, and school spirit. More importantly, they gained invaluable experience and a deeper understanding of competitive basketball. Their positive attitude and perseverance have set the stage for future success, and they are already looking forward to the upcoming spring soccer tournaments.
As the semester comes to a close tomorrow, the entire WZFS community is preparing for a well-deserved winter break. Many of our dedicated teachers and bobaes will be flying home to rest and recharge after a busy semester filled with growth and hard work.
Additionally, we recently hosted our first-ever Open School event, where prospective families were invited to experience WZFS firsthand. Parents had the unique opportunity to stay in the dorms and participate in classes, providing them with a genuine glimpse into life at our school. It has been a joy to meet new families and share our vision, and we look forward to welcoming new bobaes in the future. The event concludes tomorrow and has been a resounding success.
We wish everyone a joyful winter break and safe travels. Thank you for a wonderful semester, and we can't wait to see everyone refreshed and ready for the next chapter at WZFS! Congratulations on a fantastic term!
